I think you probably won't find much in the FAQ about this.
This is becuase you are really the first person to test 
Takashi Hamada's kernel on the PB 140. As you seem to have determined,
it doesn't work 100%.

You said you get to the "Enter shell or press reutrn for sh".
Did it list any ADB devices? Look for lines that start with
"adb:" or "pm:" before this point. It there ARE devices listed,
the ADB stuff should be working ok. It may be some other issue
that this causing the hang. 

I will see if I can duplicate your setup soon.
