You can do one of two things:
	* mount the filesystem read/write in single-user mode, make your
	  changes, then continue with the boot.
	* copy the file out with the installer, edit it with Alpha or
	  some other MacOS editor that understands Unix files, and copy
	  it back in.

To mount the fs read/write, use the command:
	# mount -u /dev/sd0a /
