Hi Stuart,

If the installer and tar files are the same as what you originally
installed with, I'm not sure what the problem is.  You may be best
off re-doing the "mkfs" of the partitions before re-installing.
If you have already done that let me know and we'll try and tackle
it from there...

p.s.  If the installer is in fact something you recently downloaded,
        can you double-check the memory settings(via the "Get Info" menu)?
