Interesting.  I'm going to have to defer to the person (Ken?) who hacked
on multi-button mouse support, here...

There is no `adduser' command, since this is something that varies wildly
from site to site, in general.  Having said that, one possible solution is
in the FAQ, if I'm not mistaken:

Currently there is not, with the stock NetBSD console.  I believe the
latest version of dt has at least some limited support for this.

I know there are other folks with non-Apple ADB devices, so this appears
to be a problem with your specific make/model.
