My battery in my Classic II died abut a year ago - I know it was on the way out
as the clock started to mess up before hand but when it finally went, my machine
refused to boot ttally, it didn't even finish its power-up. This happened on a
machine which has _no_ real capability for software power on/off - you have to
use the power switch - yet apparently a dead battery can still halt the power
up.
