That would be "Fetch" -- I'm sure the Dartmouth folks would rather you
called it that. ;-)

All NetBSD distribution files can be saved with creator/type as "????" and
the Installer will deal with them just fine.  In particular, you don't
want to have Fetch automatically launch gunzip (or Stuffit Expander or
what have you).
