For what it's worth I once had 4 devices in an external box.  The 5 inch
full-height disk went south and took the power supply with it and I wound
up with some corruption on a couple of other devices in the process.  There
was an approximately 2 day lag between each of those 3 events.

Signature failed Preliminary Design Review.
Feasibility of a new signature is currently being evaluated.
