I believe the problematic change occured sometime this summer. It
reduced my working-in-May-just-fine-thank-you system to a giant ball of
filesystem corruption that made fsck *dump core*.
Now, -current seems to work just fine with the IBM drive I just switched
to. Who'da thunk it.
But, in any case, I seem to have a stable system now. Whoopee!
