Since I don't have a Mac in front of me (oh, the pain!  the pain!) at the
moment, I can't speak very authoritatively, but... I don't think you want
"standard" partitioning, but want "custom" partitions instead.  It should
be fairly trivial to do.

However, be forewarned that a 40MB disk will be extremely cramped.  I've
done it with NetBSD/i386 and found it barely useful...
