Hi.
I recently installed 1.1 from my external Bernoulli 90M MacTransportable
drive to an internal SC40 (Apple label, but manufactured by Conner)
and am using the 95-Nov-22 GENERIC kernel from root@wormhole:/disk2...
My problem is when I boot without the Bernoulli connected (it's kinda
noisy so I like to do this when I'm not using it) I get several
Error 91s on 1280 after the "switching root to sd0a" and then
after five or so of these with a "using memory remaping for systems
that access memory directly" (or something like that--I have a IIcx)
I get a "panic: Can't mount root"
This is really strange because:
a) It works fine with the Bernoulli connected but "offline" as sd1
b) the 94-Oct-27 GENERIC kernel v1.0 from root@kitten.home.net:/usr...
boots up fine w/o the Bernoulli connected (I grabbed both these
kernels this weekend from netbsd.org).
c) I'm loading the 1.1 kernel off the root partition already when
I get the "Can't mount root" message.
Is it perhaps trying to mount a root partition on my bernoulli? why?
Do I need to reconfigure before starting w/o sd1 attached? Why is
this nescisary in v1.1 but not v1.0? Is this a bug or user stupidity?
Thanks ;)
-Pete
