I'm having similar problems with 1.2_BETA Generic #67, but it's calmed
down quite a bit. I've had widespread corruption under 1.1 Generic #47,
1.1B Generic #2 and they took down the HD so I had to reformat it and
start over. The SBC driver wouldn't boot.

I'm currently using 1.2_BETA Generic #67, and had the media errors on my
CD-ROM for a couple of weeks, then HD started to have the errors. I
removed all external devices and the HD has been happy as a clam with no
errors. I ran fsck on it after I removed the external devices and there
was quite a few errors which have been corrected.

Under the older kernels, they would work for a while then go rapidly
downhill.

I have a Mac II with a Quantum Trailblazer 810MB HD internal, and used to
have an old Toshiba single-speed external CD-ROM. Also used to have
connected a Fujitsu 40MB that NEVER gave any problems.

Right now, I'm looking at a combination of kernel and external devices.

Hope this helps...
