If you are using the 1.1 kernel, I recommend using something newer (like
the almost-1.2 snapshot).  I made some changes--I think after 1.1--that
search farther into the disk for the UNIX partitions.  Before, it was
just searching the first 8 partitions (including the driver partition,
etc.).
