This is on my list of things to look at.  I'm frustrated by this little
problem, myself.... but I haven't had time to research it in detail.  You
can be sure that _something_ will have to change, but definitely post-1.2
release.

The TZ option hasn't been deleted, but isn't user-configurable at the
moment.
