Hello everyone,
I've been following this list for quite some time now w/ a great deal
of interest in NetBSD for the Mac. I happen to have a Quadra 700 though.
:-( I know that NetBSD only runs on certain machines right now and that
the Quadra 700 is one of them. I went ahead and tried to install it
anyway. :-) I have several Pentium 133 systems that I run Linux on and I
have to say that you have done a great job in how easy it is to install
MacBSD! It quick & easy. After I installed everything, I tried using
Mini-Shell to see if everything installed properly. From what I can tell,
it installs perfectly! Only error I got was the SCSIRead Error #5 which
from following the list isn't that important.
I'm curious what is the stage of development to fix the SCSI support
for the Quadra 700?? Is anyone working on this? After trying to boot
MacBSD, it seems to be the ONLY part lacking in getting it to boot! I've
tried several kernels and tried to boot w/ cache on & off. I get the same
errors. It can't mount my root partition.
Again, I think you've done a great job from what little I can tell
from the install, but I'd like to get this system up & running w/ NetBSD.
What's the main differences in the SCSI drivers in the Q700? Thanks.

Take care.
