John, according to an Apple document (I don't think you can get it off of
their FTP servers) about the PB 140 and 170: "The Power Manager
communicates with the main processor by using an asynchronous handshake
mechanism and an 8-bit parallel data bus in conjunction with the second
VIA."  Also, from the same document, the ADB interface is identical to the
one used in the Macintosh Portable.
