Hi there all.

I am just as we speak installing NetBSD-current (i.e. the source tar-balls
from netbsd.org) onto my LCIII - all of them except domestic.tar.gz. It
looks like taking around 3 hours with the mac-side install utility ;-)
Would it have been any faster to cpin in the files and (gunzip | tar xf)
them ? I may well do that in any case, as then I can leave it running.

Anyway a few irritating questions so I don't chase *too* many blind alleys...

I am assuming that a simple (cd /usr/src;make world) or similar will build
everything, and thus magically transform me from 1.1A to 1.1-current.

Should I rebuild gcc first, so that the whole tree is recompiled with the
newest version of gcc? Would this be (cd /usr/src/gnu/gcc2;make install)?

Do I need to try and update my libraries/include files first?

It has just occurred to me - I'm going to need to get another binary
snapshot, aren't I? To update libraries and includes. Damn. Another xx
Meg to download.

Do these files include the basic kernel source?

And: JPW - How far have you got towards releasing your ADB-kernel mods for
general consumption?

LCIII ethernet, here I come (gulp)

Jules
