If it's not a "forgot to build the devices" problem, then it might be
the "discripancy between the device numbers the Install and the kernel
want" problem.  I just don't remember all the details of this problem,
but it would help us if you let us know what your SCSI chain is like.
Something like this:

SCSI ID		device		partitions
0		harddisk	AUX Root&User (root fs), AUX Swap
2		harddisk	MacOS, AUX Root&User (/home), AUX Swap
6		cd-rom		N/A

If you have more than one AUX partitions, you should indicate which is
your root device (roughly i.e. where your kernel file has been put).
