Hi,

its time for me to get a faster cpu and I want to use ECC ram for the new mb,
but I'm having problems to find such a board.

The intel X38 chipset supports DDR2 ram with ecc, but this is not a low power
consumption board and it is difficult to even find a x38 board which officially
support it.
The Asus P5E WS Pro may support ECC ram, but that part is not 100% clear.

It should be a mb with PCIe and dual core support.
