Hello,

So I noticed the performance of my spare laptop (Thinkpad T22) has been
poor recently (after acpi became the default maybe?). After doing
sysctl -w machdep.speedstep_state=1 the performance is much better. Why
does this sysctl default to 0, which I presume is the battery optimized
mode? I think it should be changed to 1 by default for the sake
of preserving pre-acpi behaviour.

The kernel is a stock GENERIC from the autobuild cluster (4.99.22).

Kind regards,
-Tobias
