Our High Definition Audio driver, azalia(4), doesn't work well with
many machines
because we need code specific to each combination of a HDA codec and a
mainboard.
However, the current azalia(4) is expected to play sound with unknown
combinations
though the sound might come from a microphone jack.
If your machine doesn't make any sound, try the followings:
- increase all of mixer volumes by mixerctl
- try each of jacks
- press hardware volume buttons (Some ThinkPad needs this)
If you have any problems, do send-pr with the following information please.
- description of your problem
- dmesg with AZALIA_DEBUG
add "options AZALIA_DEBUG" into your kernel config, or enable AZALIA_DEBUG
in sys/dev/pci/azalia.h
The dmesg will be very large. So you might need "options
MSGBUFSIZE=655360" too.
- the output of "mixerctl -av"
