Can you pleaes try http://serpens.de/~mlelstv/netbsd/synaptics.patch ?

This should make the trackpoint and 3 buttons operational when the
trackpad is activated.

You will have problems to control SpeedStep as you need to do it
for both cores and the est driver only configures the core that
happens to run the system call.
