I just tried to install NetBSD 2.1 via floppy, 3.0 and 3.1 via CD on a
new T5048 eMachine (Gateway).

As soon as the NetBSD loads, the machine does a warm restart.

I even bought a new drive, installed 3.1 on it using a different
machine, and verified the installation. I installed the NetBSD drive as
the only drive in the T5048, primary, master. When starting the T5048,
I got the boot selection menu, selected NetBSD, the OS started to load,
and as soon as the numbers quit marching across the screen at the top,
signifying the OS was done loading, the eMachine warm restarted. Not a
single system query started. The system just restarted.

My bios does not leave me much to change. Is there a kernel option that
I can change and recompile to get my system to keep from restarting?

Has anyone experienced a similar problem and solved it?

Thanks,
Kenneth
