a bunch of binaries on my c3 system do.  this appears to be symptomatic
of configuration scripts assuming that the c3 target is the same as the
athlon host where I build my packages.  awful.

NetBSD base install doesn't seem to have that trouble, it's only things
compiled from pkgsrc...
