Same experience here. I had a look at the IPMI Implementation
of the Supermicro 6023P-8 (X5DP8-G2 MoBo) and was very unimpressed.

My memory is dim, but IIRC it only let me connect once and then
the IPMI card locked up and the system had to be rebooted to get
it alive again... This was 1.5 years ago though.
