One thing I have seen in 2.x is that some USB devices will cause my
machine to hang durig the probing, and unplugging them and replugging
them during the hang will let things continue. But given that you're
in the middle of a wd0 probe at the time, with other stuff that should
appear right away, this doesn't seem a likely case.

But I recommend trying the latest release candidate of NetBSD 3.0. It
supports a lot more hardware, and, modulo a few bugs with some specific
hardware configurations, is probably more reliable than NetBSD 2.x
anyway.

I believe that binaries and ISO are or are about to be available for
3.0, but I can make a CD image of a build from mid-October available for
download if you need one, or perhaps today's version if I manage to get
a build started before before I head out this evening.
