Hi,
I got new dell systems with EMT64 CPUs. These systems don't have visible
PS/2 ports and use a USB keyboard and mouse. For test purposes I installed
netbsd-3/i386 and netbsd-3/amd64 from releng.
With a AMD64 boot floppy and with amd64/GENERIC kernel, the keyboard is
detected and functionnal if plugged in at boot. If I disconnect it, the
kernel sees it go away but nothing happens when I reconnect. Not a big
deal.
With i386 boot floppu, i386/GENERIC, i386/GENERIC.MP and i386/GENERIC.MPACPI,
the keyboard doesn't work: the kernel doesn't detect it at all. I tried
with an apple keyboard, it's not detected either. The USB ports are working,
I tested with a USB mouse.

My guess is that this has something to do with the PS/2 keyboard emulation,
but there's no BIOS option to disable this. It's strange that it's working
with amd64 and not i386, though. Linux/i386 doesn't have problems with
this.

Any idea ? Getting the keyboard working ins't a big deal for me, these
systems won't run NetBSD yet (I installed only for tests purposes), but
as I can play with the systems it would be nice to get this working out
of the box for i386.
