Hello,
I have a question wrt. wd device writes. Writing a drive that does
~4MBPS, UDMA-2 is only 320KBPS. It is a regular Seagate HDD connected to
an Intel motherboard (P2/500MHz cpu). The low speed appears when copying
a lot of data from a 52x cdrom. The speed should be at least 1MBPS. As
is, the cd light flashes on once in a while and the hdd light is solidly
on. Copying a reasonable amount of data takes 3-4 times as long as
usual. No decompression is involved. Speed testing on read using dd
yields much better speed (both cdrom and cd).
I also saw data corruption a few times on this disk. The disk itself is
not faulty but fsck was unable to recover the problem.
This is on 1.6.1
thanks for any comments,
Peter
