So, I got sent a DVD from Australia and of course my old US DVD player
refuses to look at it.  No problem, I'll install mplayer on my laptop.
It is able to recognize the DVD, how many tracks, angles etc.
But while trying to play the first one the message:

cd0(piixide0:1:0): illegal request, data = 00 00 00 00 6f 03 00 00 00 00

is spewed onto the console continuously. 

Clue anyone?
