But why would you want to?
Most systems have enough memory to use a ramdisk during the install,
so you don't need a scratch disk filesystem.
Also install from tape is uncommon - so you don't need to spool the tape
onto a disk partition in order to get random access to the install media.

Not to mention that you can (often) pxeboot the install kernel itself.
