I'll try to send you some setup info on lpd and the HP
deskjet tonight.  There's a chance that the old PCL
driver will work with the newer HPs because I somewhat
believe that HP would not drop their old PCL
compatibility.  It may not do everything the newer
printer can do, but it should print basic stuff and so
may be good enough to test your printer.  The info on
lpd is documented well enough, albeit somewhat
tortured, so I'll send you a list.
