I had the problem with a VIA C3 Samuel 2/Ezra, and still had problems 
in 2.0.2
does the sysinst option to leave boot blocks as is, really reading 
current options,
and refreshing them?  At any rate after an upgrade, the video would go 
crazy
right after the mbrmenu jumped to netbsd,  So, again, I booted a tiny 
rescue disk floppy.. using 1.6 dosboot a 2.0.2 netbsd-RESCUE_TINY.gz , 
and 1.6's installboot and biosboot.sym, which fixed it.
