I have a bizarre problem where the following will lock up
(or hang for a _very_ long time) an ssh session:
dmesg | dd bs=1
but only when run on an Asus A8V-Deluxe, connected from
one of two slow PII/PIII boxes. Connecting from faster
P4/Celeron boxes do not show the issue. All machines are
running 2.0_STABLE from early april.

Ssh from either shuttle to the Asus, or from either gateway
to either shuttle, and 'dmesg | dd bs=1' works fine.
Ssh from either gateway to the Asus.. it hangs, usually
before the third line. have tried both interfaces on the
internal gateway, and all three on external, and both
interfaces in the Asus, though not every combination.
Putting a tlp in the Asus was the last thing I tried and I
was really expecting it to fix it, but no.
Have tried three different switches and a 100baseT hub,
plus swapping out cables. Hanging a 10baseT hub off the
switch and connecting the Asus to that seems to make the
symptom go away.
This one has me stumped.
