Err... I think the snipped text said that the OP (seebs?) had built
his own SMP kernel on another machine; and that SMP kernel still
crashes in approximately the same wall-time as the original kernel.

The "IPI rendezvous failed" was *after* such a panic; you snipped the
stacktrace and I already deleted my copy.  But I didn't see anything
in the stacktrace leading to the original panic that yelled
"smp-specific".
