I think you're mixing things up. Fetchmail retrieves mail from a
pop/imap server and can, optionally, work as a pop/imap->stmp gateway.

Courier has 2 components, a MTA and an IMAP server, none of them do what
fetchmail does, they sit on the other side, so to speak.

All packages in NetBSD install in $PREFIX, which defaults to /usr/pkg,
so all courier related programs will be there (probably in
/usr/pkg/libexec)
 
Perhaps you could be more specific on a) What you're trying to do b)
What's the error you're getting with fetchmail.

If you're trying to download mail from a remote server to your laptop
(which is what I take you're trying to do) courier is not the program to
do that.
