    May I suggest the following:

    * Reserving IRQ resources in the BIOS. You might have encountered panics
because of attempted sharing IRQ's with edge triggered (ISA) and level-triggered
(PCI) devices.

    * Running DOS and using 3C5X9CFG.EXE and setting the 3C509 NIC to Plug-and-Play
mode. Ensure that the 10BaseT connector is selected. Is it possible that all IRQ's
are reserved for onboard devices?
