So far I have only tried 1.6.2 with a backport. Are such problems
welcome in a problem report? Or should I upgrade to current first?

Also I have here no internet connection under NetBSD. I have one
with FreeBSD. But using FreeBSD send-pr to create a problem report
for NetBSD is probably not too trivial.
I can transfer my data to a host at home and then submit the pr.
