do you want to do this to beat bad BIOS behavior?

if so i suggest you take a look at what linux and freebsd do...

First of all, you cant overlap partitions with netbsd fdisk(8).
Mine can, ask me for a copy if its really what you want to do.

Second, you should create a third partition at the beginning of disk.
That partition should be about 16MB, marked active and contain copies of:
           - mbrs,
           - boot sectors,
           - boot loaders,
           - kernels...

Third, keep windows partition beginning below cylinder 1024.

Third, to keep coherence, you should:
		- not overlap partitions,
		- have one / root partition
		- label swap partition as b
