Subject: no cardbus cards detected with -current on Thinkpad 600E

I have a Thinkpad 600E (2645-4AU) running very recent -current.
Without cardbus in the kernel it works fine with a Lucent wavelan
(pcmcia card).

With cardbus, the bridges are found but no card is detected. Not
detected if present on boot, and not detected when inserted. I'm
wondering if irq11 is correct (i.e. if it really works), and if I need
to change the bios to use a different one.

I have never been able to make cardbus work on NetBSD on this machine
or on a 600 (2645-41U). (I have not tried FreeBSD 5 or Linux.)

Googling returned two things that don't look like the same situation,
but might be related:

http://mail-index.netbsd.org/netbsd-bugs/2000/06/14/0009.html

My dmesg when booting with cardbus support follows. pcmcia0 and
cardbus0 are both attached to cardslot0/cbb0 (the main one; cbb1 is
for the docking station, or at least pcic1 is when I use them in
pcmcia mode).

I just got some cardbus cards (atheros and admtek 802.11); I'll try
inserting those.

Any clues would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Greg
