Hello everyone,

I asked about the possibility to make the VS4000/90 firmware upgrade
from disk
without VMS installed, and that seemed impossible. So I dragged out and
dusted
off an old i386/P120 laptop and installed NetBSD 1.6.1, fired up mopd
and
dropped the COUGAR.SYS file in /tftpboot/mop.

As soon as I did a mop boot from the VAX the laptop just froze, when
running mopd
in debug mode, the freeze seemed to occur right after mopd sent the
first packet in
return to the VAX. The only way to get out of this state I could find
was a
hard power off. Anyone using mopd on NetBSD 1.6.1 VAX? Might this be an
i386 issue?
If that's so I guess it takes another VAX to help a VAX in need...

The Ethernet card in the laptop was an old IBM InfoMover (ne2), if that
might be
of any importance (to the i386 community).

Regards

/Chris
