MMM, for me I think that is more convenient copy by hand the lines , because I use PPPoE, and the procedure to start a PPPoE connection isn't yet very clear to me.

The lines:

pchb0 at pci0 dev 0 function 0
pchb0: vendor 0x1106 product 0x3189 (rev. 0x00)
agp at pchb0 not configured

pcib0 at pci0 dev 17 function 0
pcib0: vendor 0x1106 product 0x3177 (rev. 0x00)
isa0 at pcib0

pciide0 at pci0 dev 17 function 1: VIA Technologies VT8235 ATA133 controller
pciide0: bus-master DMA support present
pciide0: primary channel configured to compatibility mode
wd0 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 0: <MAXTOR 6L060J3>
wd1 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 1: <QUANTUM FIREBALLP AS30.0>
pciide0: primaryy channel interrupting at irq 14
wd0(pciide0:0:0): using PIO mode 4, Ultra-DMA mode 6 (using DMA data transfers)
wd1(pciide0:0:1): using PIO mode 4, Ultra-DMA mode 5 (using DMA data transfers)
pciide0: secondary channel configured to compatibility mode
atapibus0 at pciide0 channel 1: 2 targets
cd0 at atapibus0 drive 0: <LITE-ON LTR-52246S, , 6S0D> type 5 cdrom removable
cd0: 32-bit data port
cd0: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 2 (Ultra/33)
cd1 at atapibus0 drive 1: <_NEC DV-5800A, , 1.90> type 5 cdrom removable
cd1: 32-bit data port
cd1: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 2 (Ultra/33)

As I've said the Drive with problems is the "cd0" LITEON drive

Thanks

Marcello

If you can configure the network from the install cd (in the utility menu),
then configure network, get a shell and use ftp to put /kern/msgbuf somewhere.
If you have direct internet connection, you can put it in
ftp://asim.lip6.fr/incoming/
otherwise, put it to a local server and send it to me.

If you can't do that, I need the pchb, pcib and pciide lines from
/kern/msgbuf (the beggining of the file usually contains null, you have to
page to the end of the file to have the real boot messages)
