How are you getting the battery percentage reading. My dmesg acpibat0 
output is only the following:

      acpibat0 at acpi0 (PNP0C0A-1): ACPI Battery (Control Method)

I am running NetBSD 1.6U from 06/27/2003. Would ACPIVERBOSE have any 
effect on this reading?
