I have had some problems installing 1.6.1 on i386 machines:

The install would go well, then at what I think is the
last screen, pressing OK, which normally returns you to
the main Install menu, would result in a segmentation
fault: / file system full.  A df did indeed show 100% on
/.

If I repeated the install, but involked a shell first and
removed /dist/*_obsolete, I had 92% (instead of 94%) going
into the install, and it completed successfully.

So are /dist/*_obsolete files needed?
