I downloaded ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/iso/1.6/i386cd.iso
today and tried to install it on a SuperMicro P4SBE system (Intel
845 chipset), but when it came time to install the binary sets, pax
segfaulted.  Searching turns up some discussion on this topic (see
links below), but no solutions.  Is there a known fix for this?

FWIW, other operating systems install on the system just fine, and it
seems to run flawlessly.  I've burned this ISO image on other burners
and using other media, so I'm pretty sure it's not a bad ISO.
