hi.

what happends when a process (in this case cdrecord 2.0) gets into
'uvn_fp2' state?

this almost always happend when i burn (ide-burner) a cd:

the process starts out fine, with a ok speed (although it sure isn't as
good as i want it to be, 22-30x on a 48x burner)

after a while the cdrecord process enters the uvn_fp2 state ... the speed
drastically change to 6x approximatley...

i checked the =B4systat io=B4 and simliar, and it looks like the hd is
drastically overloaded ... is there anyway to get this working properly?

an older version of cdrecord burns a lot faster without this problem ...
(i can recheck this if really needed).

this is on generic, the hd is a 7200rpm, burner memorex 48x12x48, running
1.6

thanks,
