By hang-up do you mean panic ? Did you get a core ?

For the record, I got two panics while using mplayer, and while I'm pretty
sure they were related to the driver, I can't be certain. Anyway, I
couldn't get another one after that, with the same kernel, although I used
xv quite intensively.

The core I got shows the assertion 'anon != NULL' failed in
uvm/uvm_pdaemon.c:819.
