While looking at my dmesg output i found one line that may have also caused
my original problems:

"wsdisplay0 at vga0 kbdmux 1: console (80x25, vt100 emulation)"

Does anyone know why the wsdisplay driver is set to emulate vt100? i'm using
NetBSD 1.6. thanks again.
