I just tried to figure out what's up with one of the students' laptop's
network cards. Strange thing: after fiddling, it works under M$ Win98, but
under NetBSD, I can't ping outside. (ep0 appears, is active, nothing goes
out) Could it be because
product VIATECH VT8501_MVP4 0x0501 VT8501 MVP4 System Controller
is not configured? or is that a spurious guess? (I tried the NetBSD side
with 4 varieties of card)
product VIATECH VT82C686A_SMB 0x3057 VT82C686A SMBus Controller
isn't configured either..
The cards are plugged into
product TI PCI1225 0xac1c PCI1225 PCI-CardBus Bridge
which are configured, if that matters..

Just musings.. Cheers,

Patrick
