Hi,

I've been trying to get my emuxki soundcard working with 1.6;
using sound apps with GENERIC produced an annoying tone and
nothing else.

I compiled two custom kernels: one using PCIBIOS option, the
other using PCIBIOS, PCIBIOSVERBOSE, and PCIBIOS_ADDR_FIXUP.
I used the adjustkernel script to match my hardware, and
these were the only options that differed from GENERIC.

The first kernel generated no sound, the 2nd one (with
PCIBIOS_ADDR_FIXUP) generated sound perfectly. However, I
have subsequently discovered that with _only_ this kernel,
exiting my X session blanks the screen and I can't get to any
virtual terminals without rebooting.

I don't know how these two things are related, but does
anyone have any suggestions? (Could any of the other PCIBIOS
options fix this?)

Thanks,
-Nathan
