Indeed, with gcc 2.95 you can safely use march=pentiumpro. I have a dual
pIII box here running 1.6_RC2 and everything was compiled with that
option. Works like a charm. Older versions of gcc like the one used in
1.5.x have some bugs in the code generation part.
