}20020427-1.5.3_RC2.

You realize that 1.5Z* is current while 1.5.3_RC2 is from the release
branch, so it's not uncommon for feature sets to be different?
http://www.netbsd.org/Releases/release-map.html has a reasonable
explanation of this. Features from current are often not pulled
into the release branch, but rather will be in the next release
branch.

I'm fairly sure it is enabled, just the supported adapters are
different between 1.5.x and current. Just comparing the man pages
for aue, cue & kue show this.

1.5.x machine:
The aue driver supports the following adapters:

           Billionton Systems USB100
           Corega FEther USB-TX
           D-Link DSB-650TX
           LinkSys USB100TX
           Melco Inc. LU-ATX
           SMC 2202USB
current machine:
The aue driver supports the following adapters:

           Abocom DSB650TX
           Billionton Systems USB100
           Corega FEther USB-TX
           D-Link DSB-650
           D-Link DSB-650TX
           D-Link DSB-650TX-PNA
           I/O DATA USB ETTX
           Kingston KNU101TX
           LinkSys USB100TX
           LinkSys USB100H1
           LinkSys USB10TA
           Melco Inc. LU-ATX
           SOHOware NUB100
           SMC 2202USB
